Performance

In a Kia, you can go anywhere you need to with great reliability. These capable vehicles have powerful engines and the features you need to conquer any terrain. Engine power is essential when you’re driving, and a Kia will come through for you.

The largest Kia SUV, the Carnival, won’t have trouble getting up hills or across demanding terrain. It comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. It puts out 290 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The Telluride SUV has an even larger engine—a 3.8-liter V6. It produces 291 horsepower and can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Another popular SUV is the Sorento, which makes an impressive 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque from its 2.5-liter inline 4 engine. Even the Kia Soul, the smallest member of the Kia SUV family, has a 2,0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque.

In the sedan lineup, there are some capable models, too. The most sporty model, the Stinger, packs a punch and will get up to highway speeds quickly with its good acceleration. It can speed up to 60 seconds in only 4.7 seconds. It also produces 368 horsepower. The K5 sedan is no slouch, either. It takes just 5.7 seconds to reach 60 mph and produces 311 pound-feet of torque. This is a fuel-efficient model, as it gets 37 miles per gallon on the highway and 32 miles per gallon on city roads. This sedan also comes in all-wheel drive, which will come in handy when you hit rough roads and conditions.

Another option is to go with a hybrid or electric model. One of the most attractive is the new EV9. This vehicle has an electric range of 304 miles and can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Perhaps most notable is its power. The electric motor generates 379 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

Safety

When you explore the safety features, you’ll see how important it is to have a vehicle from Kia. Thanks to driver-assist features, you can arrive without incident at each place you travel to. Some of the most helpful features include blind-spot avoidance assist, lane-following assist, forward-collision avoidance assist, and pedestrian and cyclist detection. Kia vehicles also have a safe-exit warning, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist, and rear parking distance warning. With Kia's safety features, you also get traction control, stability control, and automatic emergency braking.
